Is it really possible to make money online? Here's my experience: ( Clixsense /
Yeah, so one summer, I decided to see if it really was possible to make money online. I just finished a rough semester, and albeit my financial situation was okay, I knew I'd need some sort of income in the future for the schoolyear ahead. So like I said, I had a rough semester and didn't really feel like taking on a grueling summer job. I know you must have come across ads while browsing the net about making money online :P, well I have too, and so out of curiosity and the possibility of easy income, I decided to check it out...
And here's the synopsis of what I found:
So you're asking: how much can you actually make?
Well, the good news is, it's not a scam. You really can "make money" online. There is one caveat: effort. With minimal effort, you can make 10 cents in 5 minutes per site,, and with maximal effort, you can actually make over $100,000. Does it sound too good to be true? That's because there's a catch! It's boring as hell, but doable, but seriously, the thought WILL cross your mind: hmm, I really really would rather mow someone's lawn right now.
Now if that didn't scare you away, I bet you're wondering: How!!! TELL ME! Well here's what I found:
These two sites are the best ones I've found:
The great thing about these sites are:
1. You don't have to be 18, so it's great if you're in high school, fooling around, and want to make some extra cash.
2. You don't need a bank account to get your payment, they'll transfer the funds to your PayPal.
So if you put in the minimal effort, all you do is click on an ad, wait a few seconds, and you'll be automatically credited with a few cents. This can range from $0.001 to $0.02 per ad depending on how long you have to wait. Sounds cool? Well, if you could do it the whole day, yeah! But, no, the ads are limited. For Clixsense, I'd say the max you can make is 10-15 cents a day if you're only clicking ads alone, after that you'll run out of ads.
If you're just clicking ads, the main difference between neobux and clixsense is that with neobux you can actually minimize the window and do other things while waiting for the ad timer to run so you get credited. Clixsense makes you keep the window open, so you actually have to sit there and wait.
Now, if you want to put in a little more effort, you can actually do, what are called, "Tasks" on both Neobux and Clixsense. These range from giving you $0.07 to $0.35 to $1.00 per task. Unlike clicking on ads, the monetary award assigned to each task doesn't correlate to the amount of time to do them. In other words: there can be scenarios where a $1.00 task takes 5 minutes to compelte whereas a $0.03 task takes 10 minutes.
Tasks inovlve a wide variety of things, but the most common ones ask you to search google and then input your results into the text boxes of the task, simple copy and paste. Other tasks ask you to rate pictures. The thing is, a task might actually take 10-15 minutes to complete, and be worth only $0.25, and believe me :P for that measely $0.25, they'll try to make every cent count in your hard work! We're talking 10 google searches! Of course there are easy tasks too which made me feel like *I* was the one ripping off the site for $1.
If you try doing the tasks, you might actually ask yourself, as I did me: Is this really really worth it? It's a 25 cents, and I'm bustin' my ass. Wtf?
But I guess if you're a 13 year old high school student who likes to be online, that's ideal. I mean, $0.25 adds up. However, if you're a college student, idk. I guess it depends on whether you enjoy it or not.
BUT IT REALLY DOES ADD UP: Even though I kept wondering if clicking these $0.01 ads or doing these $0.25 tasks were worth it, by the end of the month I withdrew $100 from Clixsense, and actually wondered where the money came from
It can actualy become quite addicting, just wanting your balance to go up, so you do more tasks or click more ads or do surveys. I mean, I knew it wasn't actually a lot of money for the time and effort involved, but watching the balance go up made me addicted. Pretty soon I was doing 2 hrs in one sitting and making about $5.
Well that brings me to my next topic: Surveys. If you want to put in even more effort than just doing tasks... you can do surveys, which are both available on Clixsense and Neobux.
Don't be fooled. They'll tell you the survey takes only 10 - 20 minutes to complete, but whatever time estimate they give you, just know it's probably double. Surveys are worth from $1 - $4 each. Like tasks, monetary award does not correlate with survey length. I once took a 2 minute survey and got $3.24. <-- (and that's how addicting it can be, because once that happens to you you'll want to take another!)
Don't be mistaken though, surveys are long, grueling, and boring as hell. For the most part at least. Some surveys are fun and some are even funny! However, sadly, most of them are just annoying, and boring. There's a good side though: taking them will increase your willpower!
In sum, clicking on ads, doing tasks, and taking surveys, in about three months, I think I made around $250 that summer. No I didn't spend the whole day on those sites, but probably 4 hrs one day, 2 hrs another day, another day 5 mins. On and off.
And for those of you who didn't read any of this at all or got confused, I'll do a recap / summary:
So here's the recap:
On, Clixsense or Neobux, you can make:
Minimum effort: 5 mins a day: you can make 10 - 20 cents clicking on ads
A little effort: 1-2 hrs a day: you can make an additoinal $4-6 more by doing tasks.
A lot of effort: 3 - 4 hours a day: you can make an additional $8 - $12 more by taking surveys (and thinking that this must be what they call internet hell).
BUT WAIT, DIDN'T YOU SAY YOU COULD MAKE $100,000 ?!?!
Yeaaaaap. You can do this via both Clixsense and Neobux. The highlight though: is Neobux.
But now we leave the realm of making money for free, to investing to make money. If you want to go this route, it's not just time you might lose, you might also lose the money you invested if you mess up. (It's not that easy to mess up.)
If you're a golden member on neobux , you can rent neobux members. For each click that these rented members make, you get $0.01. It costs $0.2 to rent a member for 30 days. So they'd need to do 20 ad clicks for you to get your money back, and for you to profit they'd need to do 20+ ad clicks. Luckily there are like 30 ads to click on neobux per day, lol, so it shouldn't be a problem. There's a catch: for you to get paid for your rented members' clicks, you need to click on that day as well. If you don't click on one day, then that day you won't get your rented members' clicks. And that's really the only way to mess up.
So you can imagine, for $20, you can rent 100 members... If you go to the Neobux forum, you'll see there are people with 40,000+ rented members, and those are the people who are making $100,000 - $200,000.
Should you do it? Yeah! Can you actually do it "for free?": well here's my take on that:
Both Neobux and Clixsense pay to your PayPal (or whatever your payment method is). If you put in a huge amount of effort on Clixsense or Neobux and make $300 in one month, then withdraw it to your PayPal.... Let's think about it. You probably spent about 2 - 4 hrs a day, and not straight, probably here and there between playing MMOs or homework. So honestly, if that $300 disappeared from your PayPal, did you really lose anything? The time you spent making that $300 is probalby really really not a big deal. So, it wasn't your $300 to begin with, and it's not a big loss if it's gone.
So what can you do with that $300? If you invest it to rent members on Neobux, you can multiply it theoretically from $300 to $600 or $900 , in just 30 days. The sweet sweet awesomeness of it is: you're not putting in the same effort. You're putting in a minimal effort of just clicking ads!
So my method is: put in a lot of effort to get the initial bankroll to invest into neobux, then from there you just have to put in the minimal effort to multiply that bankroll.
If you're a high school student, my method works. But if you're a college student or a professional, I'm sure you'd rather just invest the money.
Well thanks for reading my "making money" online experience. "Just my 2 cents" lol. Oh that pun.
